July 4th 2003

I am not the only one who kept in touch. So did the girl who wore the short skirts and her new boyfriend who worked out of the satellite office with me. At my suggestion you decided to host a Fourth of July party. From your porch it is easy to see the lights in the wealthiest section of town. While we looked at them you explained that you had friends living there who had made 20m selling software in the dot com boom. You commented on your net worth being at about 2m. You added, “perhaps I’m a loser.”

Then you said “But Meatball isn’t homeless anymore and” the girl who wears the short skirts “graduated” from a reputable university.” Then you asked, “Are you managing yourself?”

I said, “Yes, I always manage myself.”
